To say I was disappointed when PI broke up would be an understatement. I'd only discovered them the year before as a tender young boy aged 13, however, Jerry went on to form Gift with no time spared.
The 7" and album that were released shortly after got mixed reviews, I never saw a bad one, but they seemed to vary in between blown away and confused. The music was definitely a departure...at times. There were still a couple of later period PI sounding tunes on there as well as some poppy material, even some goth influenced stuff. Overall I thought it was pretty damn good and still blast it to this day.
I'm posting up a 5 page interview with Jerry, which originally appeared in Rational Inquirer. I've no idea which issue it was but it would have been early in 94 I'd imagine.
Enjoy.
